The Amersham™ HCPQuant™ CHO Supernatant Kit is a generic HCP kit. Generic assays are frequently used early in biological development when the process is still poorly defined. Biologic manufacturers often migrate to a process-specific HCP assay in later stages of development. The generic HCP assay has utility supporting early process development workflow. The CHO HCP ELISA kit uses polyclonal antibodies generated against CHO-K1 cell lysates that were derived from cells grown in chemically-defined media. These antibodies react strongly with CHO-K1 cell lysates and currently show the market-wide highest sensitivity for cells harvested at 60-85 % viability.

The antibodies in the kit were specially developed for the detection of HCP impurities and for the measurement of analytes from crude cellular harvests, cell culture lysates and process intermediates. The Amersham™ HCPQuant™ CHO Supernatant Kit uses purified antibodies generated against a CHO-K1 cell lysate from chemically defined media. These antibodies react strongly with CHO-K1 cell lysates and show the highest sensitivity for cells harvested at 60-85% viability. The detection and HCP quantification of samples obtained from cell culture fluid (CCF) will vary.

Coverage Comparison with a Competitor’s CHO HCP Antibody
